Burgruine Werrach
Die etwas oberhalb von Wehr gelegene Burgruine Werrach ist leicht zu Fuß zu erreichen und beherbergt den «Sagenpfad am Schlössle». Vom Pavillon aus genießt man einen hervorragenden Blick auf Wehr, besonders nachts ist dieser beeindruckend. Die Burg wurde als Höhenburg vermutlich schon im 12. Jahrhundert erbaut und wechselte in den folgenden Jahrhunderten öfters den Besitzer, sowohl friedlich, als auch durch Gewalt. Einer der bekannten Bewohner war der bekannten Minnesänger Walther von Klingen. Nachdem sich die Herren von Schönau im 17. Jh. das Alte Schloss unten in Wehr gebaut hatten, verfiel die Burg Werrach und wurde als Steinbruch genutzt.
The castle is situated in walking distance above the city of Wehr. It hosts the «Sagenpfad am Schlössle». From the pavillion you can enjoy the magnific view over Wehr, especially at night it is pretty amazing. The castle had been erected in the 12th century and changed its owner several times, be it peacefully of forcefully. One of its most known owners was the famous ministrel Walther von Klingen. After the last owners moved to their new castle down in the city centre during the 17th century, the old castle decayed and was then been used as a stone pit.
