In unserem Urlaub, der ganz in den Norden gehen sollte, sind wir schließlich in Slettnes angekommen. Dies ist der nördlichste Punkt, auf dem Kontinent, der mit einem Auto erreicht werden kann. Da hier die Cachedichte sehr gering ist und der Platz hier Oben ausgesprochen schön ist kamen wir, Westi86 und Wieselflink303 auf die Idee hier einen Cache zu legen, damit der weite Weg auch nicht umsonst war, obwohl sich der Besuch hier, in der einmaligen Landschaft, immer lohnt.
Der Cache besteht aus der Plastiktrinkflasche (1l) von Wieselflink303, die er gerne zur Verfügung gestellt hat und die ihn auch schon zu so manchen Caches begleitet hat…
Zur Location:
In dieser arktischen Landschaft gibt es deutliche Spuren von vorgeschichtlicher Besiedlung. Hier finden Ihr auch ein reiches Pflanzen – und Tierleben.
Slettnes ist eine der bedeutendsten Brutstätten für Watvögel in Nordeuropa. Entenvögel nisten in großer Zahl – im Herbst und im Frühjahr ist die Umgebung eine wichtige Speisekammer für versch. Zugvögel. Hier ist auch Norwegens größte Kolonie von Schmarotzerraubmöwen. Dies kann man auf einem kleinen Rundweg selbst entdecken.

In our holidays, which should lead us to the northernmost points in Europe, we finally arrived Slettnes. This is the northernmost point you can reach by car – on the Continent. There are only a few caches in this area, so we (Westi86 / Wieselflink303) decided to create one at this special point. The cache is a drinking bottle (1l), proudly sponsored by Wieselflink303.
Location:
This arctic landscape clearly shows the signs of early settlements. The area is endowed with a great variety of plants and animals.
Slettnes is one of the most important waterfowl nesting area in Northern Europe. Duck species abound here, and the area is a significant pantry to various migratory birds, in fall and as well as in spring. This is also the home of the largest Arctic skua colony in Norway.
