NORTH CAROLINA'S
OLDEST GEOCACHE

Ten years ago, North Carolina's first geocache was hidden. "Octopus Garden" by AdventureTom was the first, but, many followed. Come celebrate ten years of geocaching in North Carolina.

WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND THIS EVENT?
Whether you are a seasoned veteran of geocaching or new to it, you have a passion for geocaching. The history of geocaching is rich with adventure. North Carolina was introduced to geocaching with the placement of "Octopus Garden" on September 30, 2000. It has been ten years since this historic event.

There are many stories of adventures to be shared. Bring your experiences and share them with us! We especially want to hear about how you got into geocaching. Any stories of the "Octopus Garden" adventure will be greatly appreciated.

REFRESHMENTS WILL BE PROVIDED.
Basic refreshments will be provided. Soft drinks, bottled water, and snacks will be provided to all who attend.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING.
You should bring your GPSr with the waypoints loaded. Those who have found "Octopus Garden", bring your story of your search for North Carolina's oldest geocache. There will be a geocache container for the event. Bring any trade items or travel bugs.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS.

4:00 PM - Event begins! Tell geocaching stories and trade items and travel bugs.

4:30 PM - Search for "Octopus Garden".

5:30 PM - Meet back at the parking area for door prizes, drinks, and snacks.

5:45 PM - Group photo and socializing.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO NOW?
You need to signup as soon as possible. Please post a "will attend", not a note log telling how many will attend in your party. You can change your log at anytime if your plans change
