Geocache Description:

Shimogamo-jinja is one of the oldest shrines in Kyoto, famous for its natural forest called Tadasu-no-mori which was selected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.

The forest "Tadasu-no-mori" is well maintained and people can enjoy walking through along several trails. Be amazed to see so many old tall trees giving good shades over you even on the hottest days in summer.

Most of forest areas are roped and kept from trespassing except the area called "Shizen Yuen" (Natural Play Ground).

You will notice there used to be a pond in the area. A small cache is hidden right there.
