In Deutschland ist ‚Grauwacke‘ ein veralteter
stratigraphischer Name für Gesteine des Unterkarbons der
Kulmfazies.
fein laminiert. Nach H. G. Huckenholz (1963) bestehen Grauwacken
aus:
* 28 - 53 % Quarz
* 25 - 47 % Feldspat
* 4 - 21 % Glimmer
* 4 - 25 % Chlorit
* 0 - 6 % Karbonaten
* 1 - 3 % akzessorischer Minerale
Felsen?
2. Welche Farbe ist charakteristisch für die Hainer
Steinklippe?
3. Welche Höhe zeigt Dein GPS-Gerät an den Koordinaten?

In Germany is 'Grauwacke' an obsolete stratigraphic name for the
rocks of the lower kulmfazies. Grauwacke (grau=grey) are found in
Central Europe, for example, in the old trunk mountains (such as in
resin or in the Rhenish and Thuringian Slate Mountains). Around the
same age Grauwacke occur in the Alps, a narrow strip north of the
Central Alps to light (Grauwacke).
According Vinx (2005) Grauwacke now used only as a designation in
the rock terrain. The correct term would be an appropriate rock
Litharenit
Grauwacke are marine, clastic sediments, which are preferably in
the context of the formation and removal of deposited mountains.
They often have an extensive delivery area from which the raw
material is transported to the Grauwacke of the sea and is
deposited as a coastal sediment mass. By instabilities may not yet
solidified deposits begin to flow in their storage and create a
turbidity current, with which the material can be transported over
long distances. If the current standstill, larger rock fragments
are stored in the bottom, while smaller fragments fall slowly. This
generates a graded bedding in the vertical section. The resulting
rock is called a turbidite, and it is typical of a rock of a
flysh-layer. The relatively smooth, mostly dark rocks are a class
of sandstones, composed of quartz, feldspar (mostly plagioclase),
and shales and siliceous rock fragments in a clayey matrix. The
matrix content of the rocks is it more than 15%, usually consists
of clay minerals, chlorites and micas, causing the usually dark
(green) gray color. Grauwacke are medium-to fine-grained, sometimes
gritty, heavily compacted, poorly sorted and rounded, often
laminated, graded and fine.
After HG Hucke Wood (1963) consist of Grauwacke:
* 28-53% quartz * 25-47% feldspar
* 4-21% mica
* 4-25% chlorite
* 0-6% carbonates :
* 1 - 3% of accessory minerals
Greywackes can be distinguished in quartz Wacken (dominant quartz
content), Feldspatwacken (quartz, feldspar and small amounts of
rock fragments) and lithic Wacken with a high proportion of rock
fragments.
In Haina Grauwacke was obtained in neighboring quarry as a building
material.
To log the cache, you'll need a tape measure and send me the
answers to these questions by email:
1. How tall is the separately growing Grauwacke-rock in front of
the Hainaer stone cliff?
2. What color is characteristic of the Hainer stone cliff?
3. What is the height your GPS device shows to the
coordinates?
4. Estimate the height of the cliff. and join if you want a
picture of you next to the single rock.
Logs without sent me the right answers are not admissible.
It may just be logged, when problems do I sign up already.
It is possible to park opposite the cliff.
