Siddington - Old Pub Run Traditional Geocache
Gackt: I have learned much about the game since placing this, my first hide, a year or so ago. I thank all those that have looked for it, but I feel it is now time to archive this one to make way for something of higher quality.

This cache is hidden along a public right of way that joins the
village of Siddington to the town of Cirencester. It is possible to
reach this cache from at least four directions, via public right of
ways, or public foot paths.
The short stretch that leads south, from the suggested parking
place in Cirencester industrial estate, follows the path of a
disused canal. If you approach from the east you will cross over
the path of a disused railway. In the winter the approach from the
north can get a bit muddy, but the cache can still be accessed via
another more solid path from the industrial estate (if you can find
it), or via a tarmac path from the south. If coming from the south
you will need to park in Siddington.
The path was used by me many years ago, to travel between a friends
house in Siddington and the pubs in Cirencester. The route,
although without a flashlight at night could be pretty scary, was a
much shorter distance to walk, and safer too, than walking on the
roads. The area is now very much more built up compared to back
then, but this path still exists. It seems to be used very little
now, and can sometimes get a little overgrown, but is always
passable.
21/10/10 The original 35mm film canister has been exchanged for a
10cm x 10cm clip lock box.
