Ahoghill– from Irish: Achadh Eochaille meaning "field of the yew forest") is a large village in County Antrim. The Diamond forms the heart of the village. Most of the houses are two storey terraces or cottages. The old Church of Ireland graveyard just off The Diamond has many interesting memorials. Ahoghill recently received recognition as Calor Village of the Year 2009/10. This prestigious award acknowledges various aspects of life in the village including environmental improvement. In the Ulster in Bloom competition, Ahoghill has been named as Best Small Town for 2008 and 2009. As a result of this success Ahoghill is through to the Final of the 2010 Britain in Bloom competition and as you can see from the signs, has gone from strength to strength.
