Blur #5: Instinct Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

dr_carmster: Due to persistent concerns, I have decided to archive this geocache. I do protest that most of the concerns stem from people's difficulty in finding the cache - it was indeed a very hard find!

Geocache Description:

This is a very difficult cache. To find it, you will have to challenge your instincts.

The cache is located near the Surrey campus of Simon Fraser University and part of a series of caches designed for a class on Speculative Design. The series is meant to expose students to geocaching and think about how it blurs the bounds between real life and a game. That is, think about how geocaching includes not only the cachers as participants, but also the rest of the people around (who don't even realize it) as "muggles" who may spot you trying to find the cache.

To maintain the difficulty of this cache, I am not providing any hints. It will likely take people a considerable amount of time to find the cache, perhaps even several trips.

The style of cache is one I found in New York state when living there.

* PLEASE BE KIND: You should not have to cause any damage to the environment in the cache area. It is (or at least was when I hid it!) spottable simply by standing and looking. If the area gets damaged I will unfortunately have to pull the cache because Surrey has a strict policy on park caches.

* I increased the difficulty of the cache as it seems to be more challenging than the original 3 rating.
