PORUBSKÝ KOSTOL
Prvá zmienka o kostole bola v
Gelatovskej šoltéskej listine. Pohlad na kostol zvonku
pripomína malú pevnost s ochrannými múrmi. Vedla jarku smerom ku
bráne v ochrannom múre vedie chodník, ktorý sa dodnes volá Trlica.
Hovorí sa, že meno dostal podla akejsi klady, umiestnenej pred
bránou kostola, do ktorej zatvárali ženy za klebety. Okolo
kostola je starý cintorín a majestátne lipy, ktoré boli v roku 1975
vyhlásené za chránený prírodný výtvor.
Kostol má románsky ráz, ale interiér nesie prvky gotiky aj
renesancie. Vo veži sú vymurované štyri gotické obloky.
Ich zvláštnostou je, že každé z týchto okienok má
iný tvar. Velká oprava veže bola prevedená v rokoch 1968 -
1969, pri ktorej bol eternit vymenený za šindle.
Najväcšou vzácnostou sú fresky z prvej polovice 14.storocia,
ktorými sú pokryté všetky steny kostola. Starostlivostou
národovca - farára Jozefa Kacku bol k týmto freskám v roku 1901
vyslaný Štefan Groh, profesor Krajinskej
priemyselno-umeleckej školy, ktorému sa podarilo odkryt a
konzervovat pôvodné fresky. Podla neho pochádzajú z roku 1332.
Okrem stien je vymalovaný i drevený vodorovný strop na kostolnej
lodi.
Porubský kostol
bol v roku 1963 vyhlásený za kultúrnu pamiatku. V roku 1990 boli
fresky v Porubskom kostole v rámci stredovekej nástennej malby na
Slovensku vyhlásené za národnú kultúrnu pamiatku. Od roku 1997 sa
tu uskutocnovali reštaurátorské práce, ktoré boli ukoncené v
roku 2009.

CHURCH PORUBA
The first mention of the church was Gelatovskej šoltéskej

The most rare are the frescoes from the early 14th century, which
covered all the walls of the church. Care patriot - priest Jozef
Kacka was these frescoes in 1901, seconded by Stephen Grohe,
Professor country industrial-arts school, who managed to uncover
and preserve the original frescoes. According to him, from back to
1332. In addition to the painted walls and ceiling of a horizontal
wooden church was decorated with ship.
