Geocache Description:

PLEASE NOTE THE GATES SERIES IS VERY POPULAR AND THE LOGS FILL UP QUICKLY PLEASE FEEL FREE TO HELP KEEP THE SERIES FRESH BY REPLACING ANY FULL LOGS WITH NEW PAPER. THANK YOU. (YOU CAN DUMP THE OLD LOGS.)

This series takes you around the outside of the park to each of the park's 11 historic gates.

All the caches are outside the park boundary and all are accessible 24 hours a day even if the park is shut.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Gates of Greenwich series is a very popular series with many visitors which is great. It would really help if finders could please please use as little space when signing the logs as possible. Just adding your initials only is enough to prove your find. Please help the logs last as long as they can. THANK YOU.

Located on a hilltop overlooking London, Greenwich Park is one of the city's most beautiful parks. It is the oldest enclosed Royal parkland and is home to the Old Royal Observatory, the brand new Planetarium (which is fab and well worth a visit) and the zero line of the Prime Meridian.

St Mary’s Gate is the main entrance to the park on the north side carefully watched by the statue of King William IV. The road behind you, King William’s Walk, takes its name from the fact that it used to be a red light district visited often by King William IV. Hence the name of the local pub ‘The King’s Arms’.

You’re looking for a little magnetic nano. Please be muggle safe! Leaning on the top and pretending to take a photograph might work well to disguise what you’re finding.

On your way to the next gate don’t forget to enjoy the wonderful Herb Garden to your east with it’s collection of over 40 herbs.

MUGGLE ALERT – all the areas around the park are very busy – especially at weekends – so please be mindful it keeping this circular series of new caches safe from Mr & Mrs Muggle.

Please also bring a pen to sign the log, and please sign using up as little space as possible!

This is a new version of the old GATES OF GREENWICH #1. If you found the old one (as 537 people did) then you won't have any trouble with this one.

If you can please take and post a photo of yourself with your GPS at the gates of the park on your way in.
