Wild Swimming in West Lydford Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Teamkandp: Sadly no change in the state of the weir or Parish Council's permissions so after an awful summer we've decided to archive the cache. We'll keep looking for suitable wild swmming alternates...

Geocache Description:

West Lydford is a lovely Somerset village. The river Brue runs alongside the church where there is ample free parking. This cache combines our 2 passions of wild swimming and geocaching. On sunny days there will be a number of locals swimming in the river alongside the church or near the weir . The water is lovely and cooling, perfect after a long caching walk and there is a helpful rope to help you in and out of the water from the car park.

This is a cache for competent swimmers and it is not advised to attempt the cache after heavy rain when the river may be dirty or swollen. You will have to get wet in order to do the cache. There is a logbook and small pencil in the cache. Please be meticulous in replacing the cache so that it is not lost. Don't forget your swimmers or towel!
