4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

A good ol' medium sized cammo, located on a pleasant little walking loop to take in the views this location has to offer.

Plenty of other caches in the area so make a half day of it :-)

Greenmount National Park is one of the smaller National Parks along the Darling Scarp and is a component of the Darling Range National Park. Due to its proximity to John Forrest National Park, which used to be known as Greenmount National Park until 1928, and relationship to subsequent reserves to the south it is a vital scarp wildlife corridor.

As a feature adjacent to the Helena River Valley it has significance in aboriginal folklore, and also featured very early on in early European settler's diaries.

In the early 2000's significant bushfire damage occurred on the southern slopes of this park, hence the name of the Cache and it's location.

The park is situated along the side of Greenmoount Hill and has majestic views over the Swan Coastal Plain below and Perth City below. The dominant vegetation in the park is eucalypts such as Marri and Wandoo along with an array of wild flowers and heathland along the northern slopes.
