Geocache Description:

Brook Cricket Ground

The club was formed in 1923 with the title of 'Brook and Sandhills Cricket Club' (Sandhills being the hamlet adjacent to Brook). In these early days - and indeed up to and including the Second World War, keenly contested matches were played against other local village sides, with post match entertainment across the road at the Dog and Pheasant - and nothing has changed. As with the pub, the Pirrie Hall has been a feature of Brook since the beginning; the front area has always been the pavilion for the cricketers, with the main body of the building being used for local community activities

If anybody would like to expand this series please do, we would just ask that you could let Al 7365 know first so he can keep track of the Cricket micros numbers and names to avoid duplication
