Geocache Description:

Part of a challenging ride from the Mt Clear Camp ground to Caloola Farm. 33 km in all if you decide to do them in one go. This cache is a short 230 metre bush bash from the path.

! WARNING !

Before attempting to find this cache please review all the information in the listing in order to make an informed decision. Whenever you go into the Australian bush you are undertaking a risky activity and you do so of your own choice and assume responsibility for your own safety. Be aware of your surroundings at all times. Do not attempt any activity that may be beyond your ability, or outside of your comfort zone. The final location of the cache is near a significant drop. Take all care and caution in retrieving it, as failure to do so will expose you to danger of personal injury. Do not attempt to retrieve this cache if you are not comfortable with the level of risk involved.
Review the information in the Groudspeak disclaimer above.

I recommend approaching this cache from the nearby river crossing, but stay on the east side of the river, where the vegetation is more forgiving. Stay above the worst vegetation and descend only to cross the river at the closest point to the cache. At this point long sleeves, long pants, gaiters and gloves may be beneficial since the vegetation is prickly. Take the spoiler photo along if you like, the cache is best retrieved from near to the tree trunk.

Now, while the first two caches in this series can safely be done solo, I strenuously recommend that you do not tackle this cache on your own. The final approach is steep and treacherous.

To do the whole series leave one car at Caloola Farm and then set off from Mt Clear camp ground.
It took us 8.5 hours, including the Max and Bert cache.

Thanks to mtbikeroz for accompanying me on this cache laying expedition.
