The second longest cave in the Aggtelek Karst after the Baradle-Domice cave system, and also the third longest in all Hungary. The active stream cave was formed in Triassic limestone. The 4-5 metres wide and 4-10 metres high meandering main passage is lined with scour grooves. The calcite deposited by the Komlos stream constantly builds the rimstones of the main branch. A chain of the 123 rimestone pools and the 430 rimestones are the predominant features of the cave. Making its way to Josvafö through the ??? siphons, the stream appears on the surface at the Komlos spring. Besides the morphological assets (meanders, canyons, chimneys and dissolved rock formations) and the diversity of its speleotherms it is a maor bat roost as well. Based on thease features the cave was ranked among the strictly protected caves in 1982.
A dye-tracing research proved that a cave system running parallel with the Baradla existed. The 7,2 kilometres long system was explored by Lászlo Jakucs and his team on 4th August 1952, by digging the Bibic doline. To make access easier, two artifical shafts were built at the two ends. Even the first explorest reparted about the positive health effects of the cave. Further studies and measurements justified this experience, and after establishing a sanatorium in 1959, the cave was declared a medical cave in ???. Visitors are admitted to the cave on advenced booking.
Only persons above 14 can participate.
In order to protect the cave the number of visitors is limited to 10 persons at a time.

Hosszát tekintve hazánkban a harmadik helyet foglalja el a barlang, az Aggteleki-karszton a Baradlát követo második legjelentösebb aktiv felszin alatti rendszer. A triász idöszaki mészköben kialakult barlang a Szomor-hegy lábátol (338 mtszf.) Josvaföig (270 m szf.) huzodik. A kanyargo (meanderezö), szinlökkel tagolt, 4-5 m széles, és 4-10 m magas föágát helyenként a Komlos-patak teljes szélességben kitölti. A patak vizét több mint 430, folyamatosan épülö mésztufagát duzzasztja vissza 123 tavat alkotva. A föld alatti patak egy rövid, ismeretlen szakasz után a josvaföi Komlos-forrásban tör a felszinre. A föágat ??? szifon osztja meg, közülük néhány csak árvizek idején töltodhet fel. A járatokat változatos szinü és formáju kiválások, függöcseppkövek, cseppkölefolyások, -zászlok és egymásba fonodo, lépcsözetes medencesort alkoto tufagátak diszitik. A falakat kagylos oldásformák tagolják, a patak medréböl gomba alaku kövek emelkednek ki. A föág menyezetéhez több helyen beláthatatlan magasságba felnyulo körtök kapcsolodnak.
A viznyomásjelzéssel kimutatott, a Baradlátol mintegy 600 m távolságra huzodo, 7,2 km hosszu rendszer dr. Jakucs Lászlo irányitásával 1952. augusztus 4-én a Bibic-töbör nyelöjén keresztül tárták fel. A bejárás megkönnyitése érdekében két végpontjára tárot hajtottak. A levegö gyogyhatásának felismerése után 1959-ben a föld alatt szanatoriumot létesitettek, s a barlangot ??? -ben gyogybarlanggá nyilvánitották. Jelenleg a terápiás célu látogatás mellett, a föág egy része elözetes jelentkezés alapján a Nemzeti Park Igazgatoság szakvazetöjének kiséretében megtekinthetö.
Részvételi korhatár minimum 14 év.
