Geocache Description:

The above coordinates are for the Prairie Shelter which is where you will need to register before heading out on the trails.

The Wilderness Center Geocaching Club will be hosting its third annual fall Geocaching event. Come enjoy the fall colors and pick up a few or a lot of caches while you are at it!

We will be placing caches along 9+ miles of hiking trails at the Wilderness Center, so there will be lots of caches for you to find.
There will be caches of every size shape, color imaginable, as well as varying degrees of difficulties. Trail terrain ratings are typically between 1.5 and 3 (Some trails may have a higher terrain rating due to weather). We will have caches hidden in the parking lot area that that will have terrain ratings from 1 to 2.

There will be a 50/50 drawing, door prizes, and a raffle for a new Garmin 60Csx GPS.
The drawings will be held between 1:00PM and 1:30PM.
You must be present to claim the door prizes, GPS and the 50/50
You must be 18 or over to claim all prizes.
Proceeds from these drawings will be used to cover the expenses forthis event.

Registration – 8:00AM – 1:00PM


WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING: GPS/extra batteries, comfortable shoes/hiking boots.

OTHER ITEMS YOU MIGHT WANT TO BRING: Bug spray, hiking stick and dress for the weather (Boots maybe required as some trails can be muddy.)

TECHNICAL: We will have laptops and operators at the event to load your GPS (IF YOU HAVE A GPS UNIT THAT REQUIRES A SPECIAL CORD, PLEASE BRING IT ALONG.)
We will also be providing downloadable files (Formats GPX, LOG, CSV) a few days prior to the event, for those who would like to load the temp caches prior to coming to the event. Check this page for the link to the files Wilderness Center Geocaching

RULES: All cachers must register before heading for the trails.
Last cachers on the trails by 2:00PM, all cachers must be back at the check in location by 5:00PM
All children under 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult while on the trails.
ABSOLUTELY NO FIREARMS, PETS OR ALCOHOL AT THIS EVENT!!!
