Geocache Description:

Pretty easy walk in the park ... for the cache. The puzzle may give you fits. Posted coordinates are meaningless. A calculator and/or graph paper may help (or they may just get in your way). The final is a c-fire ammo can.

I came across this idea while trying to solve another puzzle in the area. It ultimately did not help at all in solving that puzzle, but I realized that I don’t believe this technique has ever been used before, not for geocaching anyway. I’m starting this out with a 3.5 difficulty rating, but I’ll bump it up if the puzzle proves problematic. My initial plan is to not give out any hints until it is found, but I may begin to add hints eventually. For the first to find, there is a nice, big LAMMY and a crisp, shiny $2 bill.

The Rochester area has been the starting point for many famous people (see photo). Most are famous for great things, and a few are famous for not so great things. Olympians (some medal winners), professional sports personalities, inventors, artists, business leaders, politicians ... even serial killers. There are at least 2 other geocaches in the area that make note of some of these famous people, as well as some others I haven't included. I have met Hugh O’Brian in person several times, and some of the hockey personalities once or twice, but that is about it. Wouldn’t it be great to run into one of these folks on the street, and say “Hello, Bob!”? Well, maybe not the serial killers.

In your online logs, tell us if you know, have met, or have another connection to, a famous Rochesterian!

PointerCongratulations to neogeo585 for FTF honors -WITHOUT any hints-

The above banner was shamelessly stolen from Amerkfan. I bet he stole it from someone else.

The following folks solved the puzzle after only the first hint: TazD, TeamGeogriffin, MacCrew, Peppermill6Pack.
