Geocache Description:

Not often that an Auslig 250k map shows the local high spot as -7m.

Lake Eyre North is the lowest elevation in Australia and, on the rare occasions that it fills, it is the largest lake in Australia.

Down on the lake bed it is -15m below sea level. In flows during both 2009 and 2010 seasons have delivered around 3m of water into the lake. On the day we placed the cache it was a distance of 200m to the water edge. Just a few lazy seagulls hanging around for chips. How do they know?

Leaking air is the last thing you want to have here. Take care that your vehicle is appropriately equipped for driving in this remote area. A good compressor and patch kit is essential.
