The Fredericksburg Geocachers adopted Smith Station Road through
the VDOT Adopt-a-Highway program. The posted coordinates are for
Smith Station Elementary School, which is at one end of Smith
Station Road. From there we will determine how best to split up our
durties, er...duties, depending on the number of attendees. The
VDOT Adopt-a-Highway program agreement requests that we pick up the
road (actually the trash on the road) once a quarter.
Attendees will meet at the coordinates posted at 9 a.m. There
will be some sort of pre-pick-up food. (There will be NO food
afterwards, you may lose your appetite picking up trash...but not
your lunch.)
Please log if you can attend or not because we need an accurate
count to organize this. I want to thank everyone in advance!

I have vests and bags, bring some gloves...and some sharp pointy
objects.
It's a guarantee that if you are out of shape, you will feel the
effects of this ALL day Sunday. This ongoing event has been a great
public service. It is good to see our name in "lights". In past
pick-ups here, we have been waved at and thanked for doing this.
Come on out and bust your butt for little or no thanks. But you'll
feel good afterwards. Maybe sore, but a good sore.
