Geocache Description:

Seward Mini Park

Voted Best Place to Be A Kid Again by SF Weekly in 2007

You can check out all the rave reviews on yelp.com when you type in Seward Street Slides.

This cache is not at the posted coordinates, however, it is within 260 feet of the cache. The above noted coordinates are a good place to park in order to find the cache. I have listed another set of coordinates which is actually closer to the cache, however, parking is very scarce.

This mystery cache is designed for children in mind. It is designed for you to help guide your child through the internet, via Google Maps, where they can solve this mystery cache on their own. Well, maybe they might need a little help.

In the design of this mystery cache, I am hoping that it will teach a little about:
--How to navigate through the internet
--How to use Google Maps
--Navigation
--The neat/bizarre items on the face of our earth
--Counting
--How to substitute clues for numbers in order to find the cache
--Locating a cache

And when they have found the cache, they are rewarded with what Olivia believes to be the best slides in all of San Francisco!

To find the cache, you will need to locate the following places on Google Maps. You can just cut an paste the following coordinates into the search area:

The cache itself is smaller than a 35mm film canister, but larger than a nano. Olivia does not like placing nano’s, and sometimes they are hard for children to find, so we placed one as big as possible.

The reason this is called, “Bring Your Child To Cache Day,” is that it is park rules that a child must accompany an adult to play in this park. Yes, that is right. Adults are not suppose to be here on their own, they need at least a child with them.

Second, this park is only open from sunrise to sunset, moreover, the slides are only open from 8am to 5pm. We have come later in the night, only to find that the slides do in fact get locked up. I do not know if they lock them up right at 5pm, but come later in the night, and you will know what I am talking about.

You will need cardboard to ride the slides, otherwise you will tear up your pants. However, there is usually a stack of cardboard at the top or the bottom of the slides.

Above the slides is Corwin Community Garden which is a wonderful place to walk through and teach children, and learn something yourself, about plants and community gardens.
