"NoVAGO’s Scorching Sortie to
the Pony Barn"
Summer Event
Sunday, August 8th, 2010
Summer is in full swing, and so is NoVAGO!! Come join us for an
afternoon of fun, good food, stories, a Silent Auction, and a
guaranteed good time!! Everyone is invited, newcomers, old timers,
makes no difference if you have 1 geocache find, or 10,000...we'd
love to see you there. and you certainly do not have to be a NoVAGO
Member to attend (we’ll work on getting you to join after you
arrive).
You’ll find the Pony Barn very near the intersection of
Steeplechase Drive and Triple Crown Road in Reston, VA. The
pavilion is huge, but the parking lot is small...so you may find
additional parking along Triple Crown Road.

SILENT AUCTION INFORMATION
NoVAGO charges no membership dues, so we hold one Silent Auction
each year to defray the costs of website hosting, pavilion rentals,
the entrée at our seasonal events, etc. Please note that cash is
the only thing we can accept, so if you see something you like
below, and plan to bid....please bring extra cash with you to the
event. We cannot take IOUs, checks, or credit cards.
Some of the great items from past Silent Auctions were: - Travel
Bugs and Coins - GPS Receivers - Geocaching Software - Ready-made
caches (from micro to regular/large) - Handmade Hiking Staffs -
FRS/GMRS 2-Way Radios - Silva Compass - AND some awesome intangible
items that included: - Guided (CO) cache hunts with a popular local
cacher - Hints to puzzle cache of your choice (several owners) -
Tutorial Session (one-on-one) for Geocaching software. Be sure to
get your bids in, these items will go fast!
You can get information on the Silent Auction, and see the
Auction Catalog Right Here, in the NoVAGO Event Forum.
We are still soliciting contributions of items and time for our
fund-raiser, if you have an item you wish to donate to the Silent
Auction please contact 2Wheel’in prior to August 6th so the
Auction Catalog can be updated.
POT LUCK DONATIONS

cachers in the area. When you post your "Will Attend" log, please
post the food/drink/condiment item you plan to bring. If you don't

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
1. There are quite a few caches in the surrounding area Click Here to keep you busy
before and after the event!, and rumor has it that there
will even be a new cache for the Event.
2. Lawn chairs, blankets, etc. should be considered in case we
all can't get a seat at a picnic table.
3. If you bring Travel Bugs or Geocoins, please exchange them
amongst yourselves rather than leave them on a table for trading.
They tend to get lost that way and we all know how frustrating that
can be.
4. Feel free to take photos during the event and add them to the
event page in your logs! You can also post them to the gallery on
our website after the event.
5. We may also hold a raffle for those who do not wish to
participate in the Silent Auction...and then only if there is
enough support for a raffle. If you have something to donate to the
raffle bring it and pass it to one of them NoVAGO officers. You can
also contact NoVAGO through our profile link at the top of this
page.
6. Please keep this Event on your Watch List, and check back
often for any updates.
.................AS ALWAYS...A GOOD TIME IS GUARANTEED!!!
