[EN] Parades Squere (Plac Defilad) was built in the 1950s together with the Palace of Culture and Science (gift from the Soviet Union to the people of Poland) - . It was used extensively in the past, by the communistic government of People's Republic of Poland for various propaganda parades. It has lost its importance after the fall of communism, becoming ironically the site of a giant marketplace. It's the third largest city square in the world and the largest in the European Union (from Wikipedia)
[PL] Plac Defilad jest jednym z najmlodszych sposród wielkich placów Warszawy. Powstal razem z budowa Palacu Kultury i Nauki w roku 1955. W chwili powstania placu byl on najwiekszym tego typu zalozeniem w Europie. W centralnej czesci placu wybudowano istniejaca do dzisiaj trybune, ozdobiona sylwetka orla, z której przyjmowano wielkie defilady i marsze w okresie Polski Ludowej. (na podstawie Wikipedii).
