Geocache Description:

LITTLE BRIDGE SERIES #50

We have Motorway Mayhem, A-Road Anarchy and Footpath Fever. We
also

have Little Bridges!

Number 50 in the series of foot bridges.

They will be too small for motor vehicles and usually in the middle of nowhere. If you know of any nice little bridges then please let Stanthews know and he’ll do his best to add them.

We would just ask that you could let Stanthews know first so he can keep track of the Bridge numbers and names to avoid any duplication. Thank you.

Everyone knows about PONGI - the big black dog that is the work of Satan! If you don't, then check out THE HUNT FOR PONGI nearby. Many people touch wood when passing one of the alleged Pongi bridges. Our ancestors were superstitious people and even today a lot of people touch wood. Touching wood is a survival of the old habit of placating the ancient Pagan Gods of the woodlands, should you make a promise to yourself which you may not able to keep. Help!!!

The land adjoining Pongi Bridge was also part of monastic lands. At the dissolution of the Monastries the monks put out these stories of these hauntings to keep people away, because they expected to be back in possession. The monks never came back, but the superstition lingers on.
