The schedule of events:
- 9:00 - 10:00 AM Breakfast at the Knights of Pythias Hall
- 10:00 AM New Caches Handed out - We will have laptops with the
information loaded and sheets as well
- 10:30 - 11:30 AM Geocaching 101 for those interested at the
Knight of Pythias Hall. Temporary caches will be placed in the
nearby park to showcase some hides and learn to use a GPS.
- 2:30 PM Wrap up at the Park Pavillion - Prizes and Hot Dog BBQ
[Rain Location: Pythias Hall
Parking is available along the streets around the Pythias Hall
for the breakfast and Geocaching 101 events as well as the park and
overflow parking.
The new caches are going into:
- Lewis Emery County Park in Hillsdale, MI. This park has trails
going around the park, which can be hiked or driven between certain
sections.
- The Litchfield Nature Trail is approximately 2 miles long going
between Firemen's Park in Litchfield to Litchfield Township Park on
M-99 across from Mount Hope Cemetery. Parking is available at
either trail head. The first 500-700 feet from the township park is
more of a deer trail, but soon opens up to a hard-packed trail
going through the rest of the way.
Many thanks to the generosity of the land managers for granting
us access to these beautiful areas. It may be a good idea to bring
some bug spray for this event and yes water would be a good idea
too.
The information for new caches will be available throughout the
day at the following locations:
- Pythias Hall until 11:00AM and again after 1:00PM
- The Park Pavillion (posted coords): 11:30 AM - 3:30 PM
- The Historical Society near overflow parking and virtual cache
from 10:30 AM - 4:00 PM

***UPDATE 2010-07-15:
After having spoke and received approval of a couple of land
managers, we will have new caches appearing in both Lewis Emery
Park in Hillsdale (20 min) and along the Litchfield Nature Trail
(10 min). 10 caches have been placed along the trails in Lewis
Emery (1 offset puzzle, 1 multi, 8 traditionals). Litchfield has
received 11 new caches including one letterbox.
Also we have had a generous donor, which has provided some
prizes to be offered up at the wrap-up event.
