Geocache Description:

An ammo can under a bush along a trail.

I'm going to take a stand. I'm going to defend it. Right or wrong, I'm going to defend it. – Cameron Frye (1986)

This is my Declaration of Independence…independence from LPCs. When in the course of Geocaching events it becomes necessary for a cacher to terminate his search for caches he deems unchallenging, unrewarding, and totally lacking in any merit of the spirit of the game. Too many times I have been diverted from fun, creative hides to strip malls with coordinates leading to muggle intensive, uninspired locations in order to find “just one for the numbers” while receiving no fun, no challenge, no stimulation, and zero enjoyment.

I hold these truths to be self-evident that not all caches are created equal. While many caches are creative in either their style of hide, in style of container, or they just take you to an enjoyable location too many others are simply sub par.

I hereby declare I will cease to hide, knowingly search for, endorse, or in any other way promote the hiding of LPCs. While others will continue to hide them this cacher is taking a stand. Don’t look for my name on your logs.

In celebration of my self-proclaimed liberation I have hidden a cache along a nice little trail less than 10 minutes from the recommended parking at 33 5.754 117 10.979. Along your 0.7-mile round trip walk you will also have an opportunity to visit another interesting spot and challenging hide. More than likely you will meet no muggles other than perhaps the occasional dog walker. If it is a sunny day you will feel the warmth of nature upon your face and enjoy the sweet aroma of sage. You will hear nothing but the wind in your ears, the chirping of birds, and the buzzing of insects.

So I beseech thee, get out of the parking lots and onto the trails for just a little bit of exercise and whole lot of nature.

Please practice good Geocaching etiquette. Hide the cache well even if you found it exposed. Remove any debris (leaves, twigs etc) you find in the cache. If you trade please leave something of equal or greater value for the next finder. Please do not leave any religious or political trade items. Geocaching is supposed to be a light, fun activity, not a platform for an agenda. Do not leave any food or anything else an animal might sniff out (soap, scented candles, etc). HAVE FUN!
