Geocache Description:

Cache is a camo sandwich container hidden on top of a bluff overlooking Cupids Harbour

For one of the most fantastic view in this area of Newfoundland this cache is a must visit. Located on top of a bluff known as Speckled Head overlooking most, if not all, of the Cupids 400 Venues and expecially John Guy's plantation. It also overlooks the abandoned community of Rip Raps where famlies of Noseworthys, Hurleys, Anthonys and Puddersters once lived.

The trail is at the end of Quay Rd. It is somewhat run down and there are wet and muddy areas to contend with at times. It is an up hill hike and approximately a 30 minute walk. There a marked trail to the top of the bluff, white wooden pegs. You will need to be careful along the face edge should you choose to go there but it is not necessary. The best way to approach is from the back of the bluff along the Salmon Cove pasture. The path starts next to the no entry sign entering the fish plant property on the side away from the ocean. lots of parking space on the ocean side. It will take you to the base of the bluff where you can assend as you please. As you climb you will see the stone foundations of what once was the houses and barns of Rip Raps. At the top there are three stone pillars. The cache is hidden among the rocks approximately 40 paces to the west side of the highest pillar. Young children will need to be closely watched on this one.
be sure to leave the covering as you find it......

Be sure to bring a camera and a lunch. This a great area for pictures.
