BT5: I've spoken to recent visitors and it like my cache has been plundered. The logbook and camera are missing; sorry. It's really too bad.

I will try to restore this cache, maybe in a less public area, sometime soon. Also, be sure to look for a complicated multicache in Green Hill Park sometime this spring.

Geocache Description:

The cache is in a tiny park in the northern part of the city of Worcester, which the USGS has identified as the geographic center of Massachusetts.

Geographic centers are interesting – the entire state (sans mountains, water, etc) would be balanced if placed on a fulcrum at the geographic center. For Massachusetts, the USGS does not specificy exact coordinates -- in part because of the difficulty of calculations, and in part because they’re not including the islands off the Cape. So I took some liberty in in choosing the exact spot in northern Worcester.

The cache is in a small park, very close to a “trail” – but do not plan on a long hike in the woods. The trail is short, and you’ll never be far from a busy road. This site is perfect for a lunch break or other quick outing; the view is pleasant and there are nice picnic facilities.

Center of Mass is also the first cache in Worcester -- the second-largest city in New England, and a six-time All American City. Yay, Worcester.
