This series of 55 caches plus a bonus cache is a coast to coast trip on minor roads of 60 miles. The caches are generally drive-by’s and are suitable for cachers of limited mobility, anyone who want to boost their find count or anyone who wants a bit of fun with easier caches. Along the route are plenty of other caches to find too. Some caches involve coming very close to nettles and brambles, a pair of gloves might come in handy !!!
I would appreciate any photos you take on your way and of course, stories and observations are appreciated. Major achievements will get a special mention on this cache page. Most importantly, enjoy the series !!!
Uphill ....
Uphill's position on the coast gives a clue to its growth. Though hard evidence is scant, it seems the Romans may well have used Uphill as a port for moving lead from their mines at Charterhouse. It was the Mediaeval monks of Glastonbury who changed the local landscape forever with the construction of flood defence dykes and drainage ditches, turning the River Axe into an important inland waterway.
The Cache...
You could stop right next to the cache or park on the beach here, but please note there is a parking charge and if it has not rained recently take care where you drive and try not to get stuck in the sand. But this find shouldn’t take too long if you’ve got your cachers eyes working.
Please rehide carefully so it can't be seen.
