[ENG] The gate to the territory is usually open; if not –
take the dust road down to Bukulti canal, turn left and find a
pond. Make a shortcut through the shrubs and find yourself near the
cache without crossing any fence. Please do not drive cars inside
the territory and be discreet. Be prepared for getting your clothes
dirty.
A robust castle was built in the site of cache by Livonian Order in
the end of 13th century. It had a great strategic importance as the
location allowed to control the road to Riga passing between Juglas
and Kišu lakes. A watermill was located right next to the
castle and it is possible that in the early days the mill was
fortified itself. Documents from 17th century tell that the castle
has been ruined but a settlement with several pubs still existed.
Nowadays the precise location of castle is unknown because the
ruins were blown up and the stones used for construction of
Daugavgriva fortress in early 18th century. In 20th century the
territory was used by Soviet army, now by a number of different
enterprises.
