High muggle area, but cache is doable if you're discreet. Sit and enjoy the spot while you search for the cache.
The Turtle Pond at the University of Texas at Austin is part of the Tower Garden and is a treasured spot for many. The ponds were built during 1934-1939 while the Tower was being constructed. In 1996 a water recirculation system was installed, and a renovation occured in 2002.
PLEASE DO NOT MOVE THE TURTLES! They need to lay their eggs on land. Also, please do not take anything out of or put anything into the ponds. The School of Biological Sciences maintains the population at levels that are healthy for the animals.
The Tower Garden is dedicated to the victims of the Charles Whitman shootings of 1963.
Congratulations to WeAreGaughen for FTF!
