SK Suradnice Vas privedu k prvej z troch "vrat" v Slatinskej
doline, ktore vyhlbil potok vo vapencoch Maninskeho prikrovu. Prve
vojny, kde nemecki okupanti chytili siedmych obyvatelov obce Hloza
partizanom. Smadnym keserom a fajnsmekrom mineralnych vod odporucam
kratku zastavku v Belusskych Slatinach, kde su dva mineralne
pramene - jeden z nich zelezity, ten druhy obsahujuci sirovodik.
nieco najdete to to kludne odtial vyberte. Vdaka.
EN The coords will bring you to the first of the three
"gates" in the Slatinska Dolina Valley that was carved out by the
river in the limestones of the Manin Nappe. The first gate, also
known as the Belusa Gate are named after the village of Belusa
which lies near-by (also highway exit). The narrowest part of the
"gate" used to be only 2 meters wide, but it was eventually widened
to the current ~10 meters in between WWI and WWII to accomodate the
road to Mojtin. Virtually inside the "gate", right next to the road
there is a WWII memorial to the seven villagers from Hloza who were
transporting supplies to shepherds in the Ovsiska area. They were
stopped by Nazi occupants, interrogated, convicted of aiding the
partisans and executed on the spot. Thirsty geocachers and
connoisseurs of natural mineral waters are advised to stop in the
nearby village of Belusske Slatiny to taste two distinctly
different natural springs. One of them contains hydrogen sulfide
(still ok to drink). Your nose will tell you which one.
The geocache is a lock'n'lock container with a logbook and a
writing implement. There is now swag to exchange in the cache, so
that there is plenty of space for trackable items. Please respect
owner's wishes and do not leave any trade items inside - keep the
cache garbage free. Thank you.
