This field of Kaposvár was a very careless part of our town. Up to 1990s it was a swampy area with rushes and bushes. The Mill-channel (Malom-árok) flew through the plane. Among others this new park came into existence in the course of rehabilitation of this quarter of the town. The swamp was filled up with soil-layer of 2 m thickness. The Mill-channel was dammed up for making the Mill-lake (Malom-tó) with little isle and a little hill was built in the centre of the plane for sledging.
