Tonedog52 and myself, Wonder Boy, are assisting a group of
Marcus, Iowa town boosters to put on a geocache event for
your pleasure.
Tonedog52 and I will be handling the geocaching part of the
event ourselves. We will be hiding caches, along with some
help from some other local cachers. We will distribute the
new
cache information, and load GPSr. If you have a special/odd
receiver
be sure to bring your cable. We will load using GSAK and
Mapsource.
The GSAK files will be in a GPX format. We can also load them
on
to your flash drive if you like. We expect to have 50 – 100
new
permanent caches for your pleasure and a number of temporary
caches around the town of Marcus. We will have an archived
cache
number for you to log your temps on, as we did at our Welcome
Spring
Event in May of 2009.
The local booster group will be handling the rest of the
event.
The event will be held at the Marcus Fair Grounds locate in
town.
There will a limited amount of camping at the Fairgrounds.
The
Convenience store, Marcus Junction, on hiway 3 on the south
side
of town can also accommodate a small number of larger 5th
wheel
trailers. To reserve a campsite see below.
They will be handling the Saturday morning start of the event as
well
as the evening meal.

evening get together with door prizes to follow.

We will start registration @ 7:00 am and start
handing
out cache information. Clear your calendars for the weekend
