Vanha rohdoskasvi - Kallioimarre
Kallioimarre (Polypodium vulgare) on yleinen Oulun korkeudelle saakka. Se on monivuotinen, 10-30 cm korkea, talvivihreä saniainen. Kallioimarre viihtyy vähäravinteisessa maassa, varjoisilla kallionseinämillä, sammaloituneilla kivenlohkareilla ja maatuvilla puunrungoilla tai hiekkakinoksissa muodostaen laajojakin kasvustoja. Kuivana kautena kallioimarteen lehdet kiertyvät kokoon. Lehtien alapinnassa on kahdessa rivissä ruskeita, pyöreitä itiöpesäkkeitä.
Juurakko on suikertava ja mehevä. Tuoksu epämiellyttävä, mutta siinä on makea, lakritsimainen maku, johon viittaavat monet kansanomaiset nimetkin, esim. kalliomakia ja mesijuuri. Kasvitieteellinen nimi on johdettu sanoista poly (monta) ja pous, podos (jalka),
Rohdoksi on käytetty kuivattua juurakkoa, joka kerätään toukokuussa tai syyskuussa.
Jo kreikkalaiset ja roomalaiset tunsivat kasvin rohdoskäytön. Se on tunnettu virtsaneritystä lisäävänä ja limaa irrottavana rohtona. Myös kihdin, allergian ja sappivaivojen hoito tunnetaan. Yleisimmin sitä on ehkä käytetty matolääkkeeksi. Keitteellä on lääkitty myös keuhkoputkentulehdusta, maksavaivoja ja reumaa sekä tehty ulostusrohtoa. Lähde: (visit link)
Kallioimarteeseen voit tutustua tämän kätkön sijaintipaikalla. Kätkön ympärillä olevilla kivillä ja suuressa siirtolohkareessa on kasvanut kallioimarretta niin kauan kuin muistini riittää. Kun olin lapsi kävimme joka kevät tuomeen kukinta-aikaan noutamassa tuomen kukkia kiven vieressä kasvavasta tuomesta ja pureskelimme imarteen juuria samalla reissulla.
Tämä helposti löytyvä purkki on suurin piirtein vyötärösi/rintasi korkeudella kivenhalkeamassa ja löydettävissä myös talvella. Purkista löydät N-koordinaatin lapsuuteni muistoja 3 bonuspurkille. Taskulampusta saattaa olla apua, koska kävelet auringonpaisteesta pimeään metsään ja silmäsi "jäävät valoisaan"
Memories from my childhood 1 – Wall fern (Polypodium vulgare)
Polypodium vulgare is a fern, perennial plant, 10-30 cm high and green also in the winter. You can find it even from so north than Oulu In Finland. It likes to live in the soil which is thin of nutriens, shady rockwalls, mossy stoneblocks and decomposed trees. In hot and dry period the leafs curl up. Under the leafs are the brown round sporangiums in two rows.
The rhizomes are amphioxus and juicy. The smell is unpleasant but the taste is sugary, a little bit like the likorice. The folknames point to this sugary taste, the rocksweet and the honeyroot. The botanical name comes from the words poly (many) and pous, podos (foot).
The dry rhizomes are used as physics, those has been picked up in May or September.
Even old Grecians and Romans knew the physicseffects of this plant. It is know as diuretic. It is used also treatment for gout, allergy and different troubles of gall bladder. The most common use has maybe been as dewormer. As spoiled it has been used for bronchitis, troubles of the liver, rheumatism and as laxative.
You can find this fern (Podypodium vulgare) near this cache. The stones round the cache and the big erratic boulder have been a home for this plant so long than I remember. When I was a child we used in the spring to pick hagberryfowers from the hagberry tree between the stones. In the same way we always tasted the roots of wall ferns.
The easy canister lies as high as your hip/shoulder and you can find it also in the winter from the grevice of the stone. From the canister you'll find the N-coordinate to the bonuscache of my childhood memories 3. If you have a flashlight with you it might help you because you are coming to a dark forest from the sunshine.
