The best place to park a car is at N 53 22.290 W 001 47.291.
From the car park walk along the road North Eastwards for just over 1/2 km until you reach the footpath sign #14 where the first cache has been placed.
There is a 1 1/2 km. walk from footpath sign #14 where the path begins to the start of Jaggers Clough.
This clough is about 2 miles long, with a brook "meandering" in the lower reaches and
most definitely "cascading" in its steep rocky upper reaches.Be prepared for the path to change sides more often the higher up you go. In its higher reaches the clough becomes narrow and the distinction between path and stream bcomes academic. And in any case, in dry weather, the stream bed provides a welcoming staircase to ease yourself up the final steep sections and onto the Kinder Plateau.
In poor weather, particularly in rain and mist, this route like many others up Kinder Scout, soon becomes treacherous. Please treat it with the caution it deserves.
However, be it wet or dry, there is some grade 1 scrambling in the higher sections, so please take this into account, particularly if accompanied by children.
In former times this clough was known as Jaggers Gate (C17). Its lower regions were used as a packhorse route by 'Jaggers' who with their horses toted what is believed to have been lead ore mined in Castleton.
The cache containers are mostly size 2 with room for swap
