Church Micro 1256... East Ham, St Mary Magdalene Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Southerntrekker: This cache has been in need of care and maintenance for some time and as the owner has not responded to recent logs I am archiving it.

The Geocache Maintenance guideline explains a CO's responsibility towards checking and maintaining the cache when problems are reported. Caches that have been archived for lack of maintenance will not be unarchived. This is explained in the Help Center.

Geocache Description:

Your looking for a Nano, please replace in a way its not visible from inside the church yard.
St Mary Magdalene is the Parish Church of East Ham, and was built in about 1130.
I am placing this cache in celebration of my parents 40th Wedding Anniversary as they were married in this church, and my sister and I were christened there.

The church is the oldest Norman church in London, and the churchyard at 9.5 acres is one of the largest in the country. The churchyard is now a nature reserve maintained by Newham Council.

There has been a religious building here dating back to at least Saxon times and their is evidence to suggest the Romans had a shrine here.

The cache is not inside the churchyard and is accessible 24 hours a day, as your overlooked by a residential street please do not act too suspiciously and take care when retrieving and replacing the cache.

If anybody would like to expand this series please do. We would just ask that you contact sadexploration first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names and to avoid duplication.
