Kudlov
Obec Kudlov byla založena mezi rokem 1550 a 1570. Nejstarší dochovaná zmínka o ní se nachází v Zemských deskách práva Olomouckého z roku 1571. Pripomíná se poprvé roku 1589, jako panství Frydrycha a Buriana Tetouru. Název obce je odvozen pravdepodobne od koudele („kúdele“), kterou zde vyrábeli chudí tkalci z konopného a lneného prediva, anebo od slova kudla, tj. zavírací nuž. Význacným datem života obce se stal 20. kveten 1938, kdy skoncila její samostatnost. Kudlov se stal soucástí tehdy budovaného „Velkého“ Zlína. Prispela k tomu blízkost Batových závodu, jejich vliv na místní obyvatele a neutešená svetová politická situace, jejímž dusledkem byla 2. svetová válka. Významnými místními rodáky byli zlínský architekt František Lydie Gahura a zlínský farár Mons. ThDr. Theodor Vavruša.
Kaple sv. Václava
Jejím autorem je místní rodák, zlínský architekt František Lydie Gahura. Kaple byla vysvecena 22. 9. 1929. Vlevo pred kaplí stojí kamenný kríž z r. 1877, který k ní byl pozdeji premísten z místa „U Stuchlíkového“, na kterém dnes stojí bývalá požární zbrojnice. Kaple je chránenou památkou. U príležitosti svátku sv. Václava se zde na konci zárí každorocne koná pout.
František Lydie Gahura
Narodil se v místech, kde dnes stojí dum c. p. 6, který si postavil a ve kterém léta bydlel. Zemrel v Brne a je pohrben na Lesním hrbitove. Tomáš Bata v Gahurovi našel ideálního partnera pro své stavební zámery. Gahura postupne nakreslil zastavovací plány zlínských zahradních ctvrtí Letná, Zálešná, Podvesná, Padelky, Kúty a Díly. Vrcholem jeho urbanistické tvorby byl Regulacní plán Velkého Zlína, který si udržel kontinuitu až do dnešní doby. Zaobíral se celým zlínským regionem a byl autorem celé rady úcelových staveb. Ve tricátých letech byl jmenován mestským architektem mesta Zlína. Príkladem Gahurova architektonického citu je budova Batova památníku, dnešního Domu umení (1932). Na fotografii zleva: F. L. Keš se nachází pomerne nedaleko, v blízkosti "zapomenuté" studánky - nemáme overeno, zdali je voda pitná. Vzhledem k nedalekým polím a zemedelskému družstvu radeji neriskujte.

Kudlov
The village Kudlov was established between 1150 and 1570 AD. The oldest reference to it in existence is found in the historical document Zemské desky práva Olomouckého that dates to 1571. In 1589, Kudlov was mentioned as the domain of Frydrych and Burian Tetours. The name of the village is said to be derived from the word „kúdel“ (i.e. oakum) that was made here from hemp and flaxy fibres by poor weavers, or from the word „kudla“ (i.e. pocket knife). An important date in the life of the village was 20th May, 1938, when the village lost its independency. Kudlov became a part of “Great Zlin“ that was being built at that time. The reason was the closeness of Bata Company, its influence on local inhabitants, and the dismal world political situation which resulted in the WWII. Among outstanding natives there were František Lydie Gahura, Zlin architect, and Mons. ThDr. Theodor Vavruša, Zlin parish priest.
St. Wenceslaus Chapel
The chapel was designed by the local native František Lydie Gahura, Zlin architect. The chapel was consecrated on 22 September, 1929. On the left of the chapel there is a stone cross dating to 1877, which was relocated to the chapel from its original site „U Stuchlíkového“ where there is the former fire station today. The chapel is a protected monument. On the occasion of St. Wenceslaus holiday there is an annual fair held in late September.
František Lydie Gahura
He was born in Kudlov at the place where the house No. 6 is situated today. Gahura himself built the house and lived there for years. He died in Brno and was buried in Lesni hrbitov cemetery in Zlin. Tomas Bata found Gahura to be an ideal partner for his building intentions. Gahura gradually made drawings of Zlin garden districts Letná, Zálešná, Podvesná, Padelky, Kúty and Díly. The height of his town planning was The Regulation Plan of Great Zlin which continues until today. His work embraced the whole Zlin region and he designed a lot of purpose-built constructions. In 1930s, he was appointed to the position of Zlin Town Architect. An example of Gahura`s architectonic sense is the building of Bata Memorial (1932), today`s Dum umeni (House of Arts).
