projekta celtni modernizeja un piebuveja tai papildstavu.

Built in 1821, sea pilot tower today still remains one of the city
symbols. It was built using klinker or so-called Dutch smallbricks,
which were popular in Liepaja at that time. The octahedral building
stands on A piles that are drove deep into the earth.


From a height of B feet opens an exciting view over the
Trade canal, building roofs and the sea gates of the city.


Originally the tower was covered by green copper roof, topped by
a weather vane. Until the middle of the 19th century the tower has
also served as a lighthouse.


The building was renovated several times. In 1994 it was
modernized and enhanced by one floor after a project of the
architectural bureau of Gundars Viksna.
