Obec Vresice
se rozprostírá v krásném prostredí prírodního parku Halasova Kunštátska v nadmorské výšce 483 m n.m. Leží v ochranném pásmu vodní nádrže Kretínka, která je vzdálená 7 km od mesta Letovice. Obec zasahuje do rozsáhlého katastru na okraji Svratecké hornatiny a je od severu a západu chránena svahy a lesy, v kotline otevrené k jihu a východu.
U Vresic se dolovala železná ruda /hnedel/. K osade patrí bývalý hostinec "Hukovna", kde byla i hrncírská dílna.
V osade dríve býval hostinec pod Zelenou lipou. Také za války fungoval obchod u Koláru.
Kríž na návsi je datován rokem 1871.
KAPLE SV. MONIKY A SV. AUGUSTINA
Podnet k výstavbe kaple vzešel v léte roku 1996 pri krtu dospelého jednactyricetiletého pana Vladimíra Audy ze Vresic. Pri oslave krtu, které se zúcastnila témer polovina obcanu Vresic, navrhl kretínský farár P. Mgr. Zdenek Veith stavbu kaple, nebot Vresice jako jediná z obcí farností, které P. Veith spravuje (farnosti Bohunov, Kretín, Sulíkov a Cernovice) nemely do této doby ani zvonicku. Místo na stavbu kaple bylo vybráno v noci pri oslave krtu. V zimních mesících r. 1996 – 1997 zpracoval dle vlastního návrhu projektovou dokumentaci pan Ing. Jirí Mach z Brna. Interiér (vitráž, svatostánek a obetní stul) navrhl akademický malír pan Milivoj Husák z Lelekovic. Pozemky na stavbu darovala obec Sulíkov a pan Miroslav Dušil ze Vresic.
Dne 27.4. 1997 posvetil základní kámen kaple, pri své tretí návšteve Ceské republiky, papež Jan Pavel II. V Praze na Letné za úcasti poutníku ze všech koutu republiky i z farností, které P. Veith spravuje.
Po nezbytných terénních úpravách byla stavba kaple zahájena dne 1.8. 1997. Veškeré zemní práce odborne provedla firma pana Miroslava Pavliše ze Sulíkova. Byly vybetonovány základy a vyzdeno obvodové zdivo. Dále bylo pripraveno drevo na krovy a stavba byla zazimována. V roce 1998 byly práce na stavbe zahájeny dne 1. kvetna. Za dozoru a osobní pomoci Ing. Macha zapocala montáží atypické strešní konstrukce. Dále byly provedeny omítky, dlažba, podhled. Okna a nekteré vnitrní doplnky z vlastního materiálu zdarma zhotovil pan Alfréd Hanskut ze Vresic, za pomoci pana Vincence Kaderky z Vranové. Vstupní dvere zhotovil pan Antonín Jílek z Cernovic. Strešní krytinu položila firma Molat z Velkých Opatovic. Elektrickou instalaci a montáž osvetlení dle vlastního návrhu provedl pan Kamil Stria ze Skrchova, pouze za cenu materiálu. Vodoinstalaci zhotovil zdarma pan Zdenek Janík z Letovic. Dlažbu položil pan Vilém Jaška z Vresic.
Kapli posvetil 30.8. 1998 za hojné úcasti verících z celého okolí Mons.Th.Lic.Vojtech Cikrle, biskup brnenský.
Pudorys kaple má tvar slzy. Symbolizuje slzy svaté Moniky, které prolila za svého syna – sv. Augustina. Tvar slzy mají i okna a výpln ve vstupních dverích. Stredem umelecké vitráže, umístené v celní stene kaple, je kríž a horící srdce svaté Moniky. Kríž na vež kaple vykoval pan Igor Durovic.
Stavba je 12,5 metru dlouhá, 8 metru široká a 12 metru vysoká. V kapli je i malá sákristie se sociálním zarízením pro kneze. Interiér kaple má velice pozoruhodnou akustiku.
Materiál a peníze byly získány z daru drobných sponzoru, zejména však sbírkami, které P. Veith provedl ve všech spravovaných farnostech. Práce na stavbe byly provádené zdarma, svépomocí, zejména betonáž základu, zdivo, ohýbaná a lepená sbíjená vazba, omítky, položení dlažby.
Náklady na stavbu kaple cinily cca 450. 000 Kc. Celková hodnota díla je 3. 000. 000. Kc.
Zvon „Sv. Augustin a sv. Monika“ o váze 84 kilogramu byl ulit v prosinci roku 1998 ve svetoznámé zvonarské dílne rodiny Dytrychových v Brodku u Prerova. Tento zvon darovala obci Eva Machová, manželka, v té dobe již zemrelého pana ing. Jirího Macha, autora tohoto skvostu. Automatické zvonící zarízení vyrobil a na vež kaple instaloval pan Ing. Pavel Kilián z Brna, za cenu materiálu. Zvon byl vysvecen o pouti v roce 2002. Na podnet P. Zdenka Veitha nakreslil nezištne pro kapli v letech 2002 až 2003 soubor obrazu Krížové cesty brnenský výtvarník Josef Langer . Toto moderní milé dílo bylo posveceno o pouti v roce 2003 a významne obohatilo interiér kaple.
Dekujeme všem, kterí jakoukoliv formou prispeli a prispívají na vybudování, do vybavení a provoz tohoto malého skvostu církevní architektury.
Keš je uložena dále od samotné kaplicky, protože poblíž nebylo možné umístit. Predpokládám, že si kaplicku prohlédnete, protože se jedná o peknou ojedinelou stavbu svého druhu ve svete.
Pozor na mudly v okolí. Jsou celkem hodne zvedaví a oci mají porád dokorán i když tak nevypadají.
