A short walk from Bowness Knott Car Park starts The Smithy Beck Trail which can be done in a short loop or part of a longer walk while at Ennerdale Lake.
There is a small picnic area near to the start of the trail which is a pleasant place to enjoy your surroundings.
The cache is a small cylindrical waterproof container inside a larger plastic cylindrical waterproof container that has a token gesture FTF & kiddie swaps.
This cache is placed either before or after a bridge to the side of the path on the Smithy Beck Trail. There is a couple of short steepish area’s that could be slippy when wet but the path is generally child friendly.
Please drive carefully en route to this cache as the local roads are all narrow & twisty.
The cache has been placed with the kind permission of The North West Forestry Commission so please don’t leave any litter.
