Geocache Description:

Dam Potholes

No not the kind that cause havoc on your car's steering.

I'm talking about Mother Natures Potholes.

Ok, Coman have you gone crazy??

Nope, read on.

What is a Pothole, and How are they formed?

Pothole (or kettle-hole) is also a term for a formation in rivers caused by a
whirlpool eroding a hole into rock.
The abrasion is mainly caused by the circular motion of small
sediments such as small stones in the river. The interiors of potholes tend to be smooth and regular.

Potholes are formed by erosion.
Pebbles and sand carried by the river are swirled around on the river bed.
This action erodes the rock on the river bed forming potholes.
Over time, they may widen and join with other potholes to form larger potholes.

At ground Zero there are many "Potholes"
From very tiny to larger ones.
