Altmoräne - Geest, der Stollberg
Die Gletscher der vorletzten Eiszeit (Saaleeiszeit) bedeckten ganz Schleswig-Holstein.
Sie schoben Gestein und Geröllmassen vor sich her, die dabei entstandenen Hügelkuppen werden Moränen genannt. Da es nach der Saaleeiszeit noch eine weitere Eiszeit gab (Weichseleiszeit), die aber Nordfriesland nicht mehr erreichte, spricht man von einer Altmoräne.
Die Landschaft, die von der Altmoräne geprägt wurden, nennt man Geest. Der Stollberg befindet sich ebenfalls auf der Geest. Der “Berg” wurde von den Gletschern der Saale-Eiszeit beim Abschmelzen hier zurück gelassen.
Die Form der Erhebung wurde durch die Gletscher der Weichseleiszeit gebildet, die vor etwa 115000 Jahren begann.
Und noch vor rund 600 Jahren, nach der ersten großen
Mandränke, verlief die Küstenlinie am Fuße des Stollberges.
Vom Stollberg hat man einen grandiosen Ausblick auf das junge Land im Westen, die Marsch.
Aufgabe:
Zum Loggen dieses Caches sind nun folgende Bedingungen zu erfüllen:
1. Mache ein Bild von dir oder deinem GPSr mit dem Aussichtsturm im Hintergrund. (wenn du möchtest)
2. Mailt mir die Antworten auf folgende Fragen:
- wie hoch ist der Stollberg?
- was bedeutet der Namensteil “Stoll”?
- wenn die Erde sich in 24 Stunden entwickelt hat, wie lange hat der Stollberg gebraucht?
Die Antworten auf meine Fragen findet ihr auf der Informationstafel.
Die Logfreigabe erteilt Ihr Euch selbst durch das Hochladen der Bilder und durch das Absenden einer Mail an mich mit den richtigen Antworten. Sollten es wider Erwarten falsche Antworten sein, so werde ich mich bei Euch melden.

Altmoräne - Geest, the Stollberg
The glaciers of the penultimate glaciation (Saale Ice Age) covered Schleswig-Holstein completely.
They pushed rocks and boulders in front of them, thereby formed hilltops are called moraines. After the Saale ice age there was another ice age (Weichsel Ice Age). This one didn`t reach North Friesland, so it`s called “Altmoräne”.
The landscape, which is marked by the “Altmoräne”, is called Geest. The Stollberg is also on the Geest. When the glaciers of the Saale Ice Age melt, they left the “mountain” behind.
The glaciers of the Weichsel ice age formed the elevation, which began about 115 000 years ago.
And still about 600 years ago, after the first great
Mandränke, the coastline was at the foot of Stollberg.
From Stollberg you have a magnificent view of the young country to the west, the “Marsch”.
Task:
To log this cache the following conditions need to be fulfilled:
1. Take a picture of yourself or your GPSr with the tower in the background. (if you like)
2. Please send the answer to the following question to me by mail:
- how tall is the Stollberg?
- what does the part of the name "Stoll" mean?
- if the earth has developed within 24 hours, how long did the Stollberg take?
You will find the answer on the information board.
