Tagged! Tower Tingle! Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

GuentherGal:
This morning Chuck and I pulled down Gravelly Hill Road to find a string of trucks with trailers parked not far from here. We were then privy to see (and hear) no less than 8 illegal ATV's as they bounced back and forth down the trails and at one point, came sailing over the fence with the "Posted/No Trespassing/Keep Out" signs. As we took the short hike to the cache, we heard nonstop gunshots nearby. It took a minute to locate the make shift container as the area has drastically changed through the years. After picking up anything related to the cache, we headed out to find what appeared to be some dude stealing firewood. Hmmm, and it's the cachers that are the problem. I just don't have any "Tingle" left. Thanks to all who have visited.

Geocache Description:

When you hunt for this one you will be in the shadow of some large towers, and you just might hear or feel the “Tingle!” You are searching for a small round Lock & Lock.

Wow, I must be really slow; I got “Tagged” again! Today I grabbed Joey’s new hide, “Tag Pipes,” here in beautiful Maskells Mill WMA. I didn’t have time to place a new cache, BUT when I was out here in May I placed one in reserve, for just such an occasion as today! Kudos to Nikon-ing for coming upon this new playground, and inviting us to play, "Tag!" Your plan has succeeded well!

You will find this WMA is a bit different than some of those we generally hike. There are lots of interesting areas to explore. I found there is some hilly terrain, packed sand trails, and lots of ponds and waterways. This morning a raccoon came within thirty feet of me before scurrying up a tree. The eight foot barbed wire fences and huge gates have me curious as to what this area was once used for. Perhaps someone can fill us in on the history of the area.

Please remember to wear blaze orange during hunting season!
