Our second series takes you from Amersham to Little Missenden and back by an alternative route. If you do the whole circuit (around five miles long), you can park at Dovecot Carpark in the Old Town at N 51°39.967 W 000°36.800. Caches 1-3 can be visited with a sturdy off-road baby buggy, after that it gets steep. Bring a map if you intend to do the whole circuit (you can't really get lost doing 1-3, but after that, you'll be better off knowing where the footpaths are).
If you have followed the South Bucks Way from Amersham Old Town, you will come to this cache just before you enter the gates to the grounds of Shardeloes. The South Bucks Way runs along the edge of the cricket pitch, through the grounds, then on to Little Missenden. But if you are doing the whole series, you may decide to head up the other footpath at this point to meet numbers five and four in the series, and get the hills out of the way first. It's your choice!
