Cmentarz:
Tuz przy drodze Tarnów - Ciezkowice znajduje sie interesujacy cmentarz z IWS. Pochowanych jest tu 63 zolnierzy armii austro-wegierskiej, 29 niemieckiej i 10 rosyjskiej. Cmentarz zalozony jest na stoku na planie trapezu. W jego górnej, tylnej czesci znajduje sie kamienny pomnik w postaci stylizowanej kapliczki. W przedniej czesci, w naroznikach znajduja sie stylizowane, niskie, kamienne baszty kryte gontem. Sprawiaja one wrazenie, jakby cmentarz byl twierdza. Cmentarz zostal zaprojektowany przez Jana Szczepkowskiego, jednak nagrobki projektowal J. Hon. Najciekawszy jest tu nagrobek znajdujacy sie na najwyzszym tarasie, tuz przed pomnikiem. Wyrzezbiony jest na nim ladny motyw roslinny. Pewne źródła mówią, że spoczywa tutaj rotmistrz Oswald von Richthofen, bliski krewny slynnego niemieckiego asa lotnictwa Manfreda von Richthofena zwanego "Czerwonym Baronem", jednak jak się później dowiedziałem, obaj panowie wcale nie byli ze sobą spokrewnieni.
Pochowani tutaj zolnierze zmarli w ulokowanym w pobliskim dworze lazarecie. Poczatkowo pochowani byli w parku dworskim, dopiero po wybudowaniu cmentarza zostali ekshumowani i przeniesieni w obecne miejsce.

The cemetery:
Just by a road from Tarnów to Ciezkowice there is an interesting cemetery from WWI. 63 Austro-Hungarian soldiers, 29 German and 10 Russian are buried there. This trapezoid cemetery is located on a slope. In the upper, rear part of the cemetery there is a stone memorial: a stylized shrine. In the front part there are two stylized, low stone towers covered with shingles. It gives an impression of a fortress. The cemetery was designed by Jan Szczepkowski, but gravestones were designed by J. Hon. The most interesting feature is a grave on the top terrace, just in front of the memorial, with a nice carved flower motif. Rittmeister Oswald von Richthofen is buried there. Some sources says, that he was a close relative of a famous ace of the German aviation - Manfred von Richthofen aka "Red Baron", but I realized later, both gentalmans weren't related.
Soldiers who are buried in this cemetery died in a field hospital, which was located in a manor nearby. At first, they were buried in the manor park and, just after the cemetery was built, their remains were exhumed and moved to the present place.
