WW2 Staplefield Patrol's Underground Hideout Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

LostInTheWoods!: Unfortunately, the landowner forgot that he, and his lovely dog, had met me and agreed to my placing the cache. [:(]
He even showed me the base of a WW2 Nissen Hut when I was there. [:)]

I had intended to re-affirm that permission had been given but, with so far to travel for a single cache, I decided I just can't be bothered. [:(]

So, assuming that the cache has really gone then this will save me the bother of having to drive all the way over from Eastbourne to remove it. [:)]

Many thanks to all who visited. [:D]

Finally: view my list of caches to establish the locations of other WW2 Patrol Underground Hideouts (OBs).

Geocache Description:

The cache is a 35mm film pot located about 18 inches (0.5m) above ground level and ~6ft (2m) from the path. Sorry, the remoteness of this cache means that it is not accessible to wheelchair cachers. [UPDATE: apparently the logbook / logroll is damp so please will one of the next visitors replace it for me?]

The published co-ordinates are for the very approximate location of the underground hideout of the Staplefield Patrol Auxiliary Unit. You will get your feet wet, and much more, if you go there.
Please let me know if you have more accurate co-ordinates.

Unfortunately, the hideout is off the footpath so you will not be able to see it. You can however gain lots of very interesting information regarding this and other underground hideouts by searching:
Staplefield Patrol (Auxiliary Units) and Secret Sussex Resistance

In true clandestine style, you will need to decode the following cipher to find the cache:
N: urev avil urev mrmv klrmg lmv mrmv vrtsg
W: yrt mlgsrmt lmv mlftsg wlg hrc gsivv hrc

UPDATE:
Answer: N 50° 59.198 W 000° 10.636
I will delete this once someone has found the cache soon.

Many thanks to Stewart A for bringing my attention to this location.
