Geocache Description:

This 133 jeek series of a Kokopelli inspecting his sniper rifle is being published on Memorial Day weekend 2010. I did this for those that have served.

Each container is a 6” dirt colored PVC pipe with a waterproof container inside. Bring a pen, and tweezers just in case. They are not hidden and should not be difficult to find. They are either on the ground at the base of a bush, near a rock, or in a Josh crotch. Once you are at the coords, you should be able to quickly find the jeek by searching the general area. This is not a high muggle zone so most containers are out in the open waving to you.

The desert is a beautiful place especially when the flowers are blooming. Try to count all the different flowers you see and I’m sure you will be astonished at how many different flowers you find.

Another cool thing about this series is all of the micro environs it takes you through. From dry dusty dirt to the living soil crusts called crypto biotic soil which is dominated by cyanobacteria, previously called blue green algae. From sandy washes to volcanic rock gardens. From flat fields of hitch hiker stickers to groves of large trunked Joshua Trees. Make sure you take time to look up from your GPS and enjoy the natural beauty of the far off vistas and the sounds of the many birds.

The Rules:
1. No Wheels Allowed. This is a hiking series. Vehicles within the natural desert are environmentally deleterious and will give the environmental groups a reason to restrict geocaching, besides, it’s just plain rude.
2. You must sign you own name on the log, or at least be present when the log is being signed. No power line rules allowed.
3. You must date your online log the date the jeek was actually found. Some people like to save up their finds and log them all at once on the same date so it looks like they found a lot on a certain date. That’s cheating in my opinion, or at least against the spirit of the game. Someday, some really strong hiker will spend a really long day and find all the jeeks in this series in one day. He alone will earn the right to log them all on the same date.

Warnings:
This series will take you to the middle of the desert on foot. The terrain is not too challenging, but you will be a fairly good distance from your car at times. Weather, exhaustion, injury, sunset and disorientation are real hazards. Please prepare properly and acknowledge your personal limitations.

BRING PLENTY OF WATER.
DRESS APPROPRIATELY.
LEAVE A FLIGHT PLAN.
WAYPOINT YOUR CAR.

Take Care, Have Fun, and Good Luck.
