Southend-on-Sea Borough Council’s Executive Councillor for
Culture, Sport and Amenity says: “This is a marvellous
opportunity to offer young people a special place where they can
meet their friends and target their energies positively".
“They themselves highlighted the fact that they needed
somewhere they could use as an informal hang out. The basketball
area with its hoop and tarmac, also gives them the chance to
challenge each other, keep fit, and sharpen up their sporting
skills."
The small park also contains a football pitch (in season), a childrens Play Space and is popular with dog walkers.
