Cmentarz:
W Dabrowie Tarnowskiej znajduje sie jeden z
ciekawszych cmentarzy z IWS tego regionu. Pochowanych jest tutaj 44
zolnierzy armii austro-wegierskiej, 9 niemieckiej i 236 rosyjskiej.
Duza ilosc zolnierzy rosyjskich ( w tym 2 lekarzy) swiadczy o
istnieniu w poblizu rosyjskiego szpitala polowego. Projektantem
cmentarza byl Johann Watzal, jednak kilka lat temu nieznacznie
zmieniono jego wyglad poprzez dodanie kilku tablic oraz zmiane
zadaszenia kaplicy centralnej z gonta na blache. W kaplice
wmurowana jest tablica z inskrypcja w jezyku niemieckim:
Usmiechalismy sie z niedowierzaniem, gdy mówiono nam o
cudach,
Az zobaczylismy ziemie w plomieniach,
I na nas zawalil sie swiat pelen wrogów,
I niepojete cuda staly sie naszym udzialem.
W czasie II wojny swiatowej pochowano tu takze zolnierzy armii
niemieckiej i Armii Czerwonej. Obecnie cmentarz jest bardzo dobrze
utrzymany.
Na przeciwko cmentarza znajduje sie dogodny parking.

The cemetery:
In Dabrowa Tarnowska there is one of the most
interesting cemeteries from WWI in this region. 44 Austro-Hungarian
soldiers, 9 German and 236 Russian are buried there. The large
number of Russian soldiers (including 2 doctors) suggests that
there was a Russian field hospital in the neibourhood. The design
of the cemetery was by Johann Watzal, but few years ago the
cemetery was refurbished and modified - some plaques were added and
the roof of the central shrine was changed from roof shingles to
simple metal roofing. A plaque is fixed to the shrine with an
inscription in German language:
We were smiling with disbelief when they talked about
miracles,
Till we saw the land in flames,
And a world full of enemies collapsed onto us,
And inconceivable miracles happened with our
participation.
During WWII soldiers of the German army and the Red Army were
buried there. Currently, the cemetery is well kept.
Just opposite the cemetery there is a handy car park.
The cache:
The container includes a logbook, pencil and
items for trade.
