Der Weddelbrooker Findling wurde Ende 1997
auf der Wiese "Dertgarden" eines Landwirtes freigelegt.
Nach mehreren Versuchen den Findling zu
bergen, konnte erst ein 400-Tonnen-Kran
den Findling am 30.08.1997 aus dem Boden heben.
Er wurde dann per Tieflader vor das Dorfhaus transportiert.
Der Findling wurde "Der alte Weddelbrooker" getauft.
Die geologische Untersuchung ergab,
dass es sich um schwedischen Granit handelt,
der vor 1400 Millionen Jahren auskristallisiert ist.
Er wurde wahrscheinlich in der vorletzten Eiszeit,
der so genannten Saale-Eiszeit, von skandi-
navischen Gletschern erfasst und in den
holsteinischen Raum geschoben.
Die Landschaften zwischen Nord- und Ostsee
wurden von der Saale-Eiszeit (vor 200 000 bis
125 000 Jahren) und der Weichsel-Eiszeit
(vor 80 000 bis 15 000 Jahren) geprägt.
Die gewaltigen Gletscher trugen große Mengen
Gestein aus dem skandinavischen Raum mit
sich, das nach deren Abschmelzen hier
abgelagert wurde.

This boulder was found at the end of 1997
in a garden of a farmer.
Only a 400-tons crane could take out this
heavy boulder at the 30th of august 1997.
A big flat bed trailer transported the boulder to this place.
The boulder was baptized "Der alte Weddelbrooker".
The result of geologic analyses was, that this
boulder are old swedish granite, about 1400 million years old.
At the last ice age the boulder was transported by a
big glacier to this region.
This landscape here a the result of the big ice ages
200 000 until 15 000 years ago.
Very big glacies carried many stones from
scandinavia to this region.

Um diesen Earth-Cache loggen zu dürfen müssen folgende Aufgaben gelöst werden:
1.) Wie hieß der Landwirt, in dessen "Dergarden" dieser Findling gefunden wurde ?

4.) Messe den Umfang des Findlings (in Brusthöhe) und teile mir das Ergebnis in der e-mail mit !
